Thiruvanantahpuram :NIA carried out raids at homes of ex-office bearers of the banned Popular Front of India(PFI). NIA teams arrived at 56 places in the state in parallel raids that began early this dawn.
In Ernakulam sleuths are scouring 12 premises comprising homes of leaders in the Muvattupuzha, Aluva and Perumbavoor regions. The raid focuses on homes of second-rung leaders and those who acted as trainers for operatives.
Malappuram : In Malappuram, NIA teams are inspecting 7 sites namely, Macheri home of OMA Jabbar - the brother of OMA Salam who was the national chairperson of PFI; house of Ibrahim at Puttanthani who was national level trainer for PFI, residence of former state chairman P Abdul Hamid at Kotakkal Indiannur and homes of popular ex-leaders Rafeeq Cherukav in Kottaakal, Mujeeb Rehmaan in Kondotty(an accused in pipe bomb case), Ahadh in Valancheery and Moideenkutty in Kattiparutty.
Kozhikode: In Kozhikode, raids were conducted at home of PFI activist K Sadath in Paleri, Rafeeq’s house in Anakkuzhikara, Naushad’s house in Nadapuram’s Viladapuram.
Thiruvananthapuram: In the state capital, NIA raids are underway at three places namely, Thonnakkal, Nedumangad and Pallikkal. The site includes house of Thonnakkal Nawaz.
Kollam: In Kollam, raids are being carried out in Karunagapally and Chakulli.
Kottayam : In Kottayam, NIA teams are looking up house of ex-leader Suneer Moulavi in Kanjirapally’s Pattimuttam.
The raids are being carried out in the presence of Kerala police.
