Uppula: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday reiterated firm decision that Citizenship Amendment Act(CAA) will not be implemented in Kerala under any circumstances. CM was responding to Amit Shah’s announcement that CAA will be brought into force after covid vaccinations are complete around the country.
“Some are attempting to trigger communal topics instead of discussing developmental issues. BJP claims it will implement CAA. The state government is firm in its decision that the law will not be allowed to take effect in Kerala. Some ask how the state govt can avoid the law coming into force. The answer is, having said CAA will not be allowed means it will not be implemented here,” said CM at the inaugural of “Kerala Vikasana Jatha” in Manjeswaram.
Some try to distract people away from problems with development, by inciting communal passions among people. Religious fanaticism is dangerous to the society. And, that’s just what RSS, SDPI and Jamaat-e-Islami are engaged in. Protection of minority rights does not mean forming of organisations and taking matters into one’s own hands. It is something that can be done the right way by joining hands with the Left front. Several forces oppose LDF because the left front is against communalism outright. Secularism is something LDF always stands to guarantee, said CM.
