Thiruvananthapuram : There would be no slowdown of social security or welfare activities in State despite acute financial strain. Welfare pensions and healthcare will remain guaranteed for all. Local self – government bodies continue to receive their funds wholly and establishments including KSRTC continue to receive aid.
Despite attempts to destroy the Pension system, more than 60 lakh people continue to receive monthly welfare pension of Rs 1600. 42 lakh families receive treatment benefits from being enrolled under Karunya Arogyasuraksha Yojana(KASP). With Rs 200 crore remitted this month the total scheme funding rose to Rs 800 crores up to now. Rs 1400 crore was given in the last financial year in KASP funding. Three lakh families get free treatment for up to Rs 2 lakh rupees under the Karunya Benevolent Scheme. All these apart, effective interventions tare happening in the field of agriculture, industry and tourism as well.
Of the total Rs 1849 crores required by the local self-govt bodies, Rs 1377 has been paid out. Of this,Rs 152 crore was paid in December. The third installment of Rs 1046 has been paid into the Rs 3006 crore Reserve Fund. Rs 121 crore was transferred to KSRTC last week. Rs 81 crore was paid toward building of 400 flats for fishermen in Muttathara. Rs 272 crore was paid toward acquiring Hindustan News Print that the Centre had sought to privatise.
Mission is in progress to provide gainful employment to about 20 lakh educated job aspirants. More than 300,000 people have registered in the Digital Workforce Management System launched by the govt. Over 4,000 Startups have been set up. Funds for their innovation, SEED and equity fronts are being readied. The Entrepreneurial Year scheme has generated over a lakh jobs.
37,480 people have been listed for appointment via PSC up to November of last year. Investment opportunities are opening up in the biotechnology, nanotechnology and pharmaceutical sector. 420 new agro tourism units have opened and 22,000 farmers trained.
3,13,455 houses were constructed under Life Mission up last October. Signaling advancement, 1,20,000 children enrolled newly in government - aided schools in the last academic year.
