No Fresh Instance Of Nipah in Kozhikode; 981 On Contact List

Thiruvananthapuram : No fresh Nipah case has been reported in Kozhikode, the Health Minister Veena George informed, adding that those being kept in isolation will remain so for another 21 days.

There are 981 people on the contact lists as of now. Masks must be worn properly. Results to 27 samples arrived today, all of which are negative,  the minister said.

307 people have been removed from the Contact list. 127 people on contact list in connection with the Cheruvannur resident confirmed with Nipah. Those on contact list for the deceased is 115 and health workers figure to the other 168 on the list.

With regard to the Ayancheri resident who died of Nipah, there are 437 people on the Contact list. 1263 people have called on the control room set up for Nipah.

The 9-year-old boy being treated at the private hospital has showed marked improvement in health. Others under treatment too are doing satisfactorily.  Core committee holds its meeting  each morning and evening to ramp up preventive efforts. Chaired by the Health Minister Veena George, these meetings are held online.
