No Need For Hiding Covid Deaths; Shall Look Into Complaints: Veena George

Thiruvananthapuram :  There is no need to deliberately cover covid deaths in the state, said Health Minister Veena George on Friday. If there be discrepancies regarding death tally, the same should be examined. Complaints in this regard shall be looked into, the minister added.

Deaths are determined by the attending doctors or the medical superintendents and is done in conformation with parameters stated in Covid guideline. Those parameters cannot be altered by any state including Kerala. If amends be needed to existing parameters, suggestions may be made to the centre, said the minister.

The minister further said : Covid deaths occurrences  have never been  deliberately covered. Online system for reporting deaths has been established by the new government. Hospitals are now required to report deaths within 24 hours. If any name is found omitted in course of such reporting, the incident will be probed in depth, said the minister
