End To Traffic Blocks In Kazhakuttam; Kerala’s Largest Flyover Inaugurates On 15th

Thiruvananthapuram : Kazhakkuttam’s traffic woes are nearly over. Kerala’s longest flyover, spanning  2.71 km in Kazhakuttam in 4 lanes, will open to public on the 15th, said Minister P Mohamed Riyas. The minister was touring the structure to assess progress of its construction works.

The bridge is culmination of joint efforts of the Centre, National Highway Authority, State Govt, Thiruvananthapuram District Panchayat and others, the minister said.

The State govt has ensured support in construction of subway to the massive structure. Though the inaugural was slated for 1st of November, intervening rains hampered work pacee, the minister said.

Kazhakuttam - Karatt bypass shall be constructed in time-bound manner. The State govt will not arrange an a elaborate inaugural event and will instead consult Centre for its take, the minister added.

Minister Mohamed Riyas was accompanied by Kadakampally Surendran MLA, Highway Authoritiy Regional Officer BL Meena, Project Drector P Pradeep and  Vice President of the contracting company RDS Col M Raveendran.
