No Need To Change Trial Court; Supreme Court Rejects Survivor’s Plea in Actress Assault Case

New Delhi : In the Actress Assault Case of 2017, the Supreme Court refused to allow a change of trial court. The ruling came over the survivor’s plea seeking that the trial be shifted from the current court as judge, to her knowledge, has interacted with the  accused personally.

The Supreme Court rejected the plea on grounds that there was no evidence of that happening.

The  Case : On 17 February, 2017,  the survivor, a popular actress, was  on way from her Thrissur home iwhen she was  waylaid on the outskirts of Kochi by a gang. After car-jacking, the prime accused, Pulsar Suni, molested her and captured visuals of the act on a mobile The entire  crime is alleged to have been  perpetrated at behest of actor Dileep.
