THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Except in containment areas, travel passes issued by police stations will not be compulsory anymore  for cross-district trips  between 7 am – 7 pm,  DGP Loknath Behera announced late Monday evening. People on journey must however carry an ID proof.

And, people  travelling outside one’s own district between 7 pm at night and 7 in the morning, should seek travel pass from police. However, individuals who might be travelling during night hours as part of  essential services listed in government’s notification,  need to only carry their ID card.   Also, people can now buy food parcels from restaurants up to 10 pm late night.

Special Task Force teams would be deployed at all major cities across the state, to haul up people without masks outside of their homes. In rural areas, those found without masks outdoors will face legal action. Police will distribute free masks as part of their  ‘Bask In The Mask’ campaign in village stretches.
