Kochi : More evidences surface of K Sudhakaran’s close acquaintance with scamster Monson Mavunkal. Out now is Monson’s voice clip indicating Sukhakaran had full knowledge of Monson’s con enterprise. The voice recording pertains to conversation Monson had with complainant Anoop, where he is heard saying Sudhakaran knew that if deals clicked it meant money, the reason why he stood by in support. MP K. Muraleedharan is another name that crops up in the conversation.
“K. Sudhakaran and Muraleedharan are MPs. They are making visits and talks for benefiting me. Are they novices ? Why do you think they hug me ? Is that out of love for me ? It is because they know there is money to gain that they stand by me,” says Monson in the clip.
With evidence now available on Sudhakaran's close association with Monson Mavunkal, he too will likely come under probe purview. The probe team has gathered more evidences in that direction.
The dupe victim testified that his discussions with Monson at his Kaloor residence took place in presence of K Sudhakaran. There, Sudhakaran also assured to help with getting Rs 2.62 lakh crores released, that lay blocked at the time, the complainant told probe officers. Incidentally, Sudhakaran has acknowledged he visited Monson’s home on several occasions. His former driver too hinted that Sudhakaran was involved in the deals.
Evidences also emerged of Monson’s connection with Congress leaders Hibi Eden MP and Lali Vincent. Detailed investigations would be necessary to bring out Sudhakaran’s role in the scam, said Crime Branch. Sudhakaran earlier claimed he never knew or met with any of the complainants and that the photo in question was clicked while he was there for treatment purposes. The Crime Branch are not so convinced however. Leaders resentful of Sudhakaran hopes central agencies will descend on the probe. Benny Behnan’s demand for investigating Sudhakaran comes amid escalated dissent over the KPCC president’s style of functioning. Benny Behnan’s demand came after consultations with party seniors, including Oomen Chandy. In any case, Sudhakaran will have to provide explanations to the High Command with much delay.
