Kasaragod : A special team of police will investigate the abduction-killing of expat youth, Abubecker Siddique, on Monday, whose body with marks of torture was dumped in front of a private hospital in Kasaragod’s Kumbala. The 14-member team from the department will be headed by Kasaragod DySP, PP Balakrishnan Nair.
According to postmortem report, Abubecker died of brain hemorrhage from blunt force trauma to his head and injuries to internal organs from torture. There were bruises to Abubecker’s heels indicative of caning as well.
Police currently have in custody three persons - the owner of car that carried the body and two others known to the victim. Police theorise there was a 10-member gang involved in the crime, of whom, clues to whereabouts of eight have been received. Dispute over money dealings in in Gulf is believed to have led to the murder.
A gang had abducted the victim’s brother, Ansar and another of his relative four days prior and threatened to kill them, forcing Abubecker to fly back home and face his the attackers. Siddhique’s brother is currently admitted at a hospital in Mangalapuram.
