Thiruvananthapuram : Officials should get to understand that people approach local self-government establishments to have their rights met, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. No one gets to a government office to eke out generosity. Everybody knows, where an official will land, if he persists with practice of harassing public, said CM in a subtle warning, speaking at state meeting of the Municipal Staff Association.
The truth is, certain bad tendencies that don’t match up to our societal standards have gained wide spread. Each seated on their chair is meant to serve the public and not instead cause them hardship. That should be the attitude. However, the situation now is, people come to these places over and over again seeking to meet a need, but are rendered unable to utter a word toward it. Matters of this kind should be checked and corrected, said CM.
