Thiruvananthapuram : Closure akin to lockdown is not being mulled as of now, said Health Minister Veena George. Locking down completely will impact people’s lives. All should observe vigil to prevent that situation. Quarantine protocol has been changed for international arrivals based on guideline from the Centre. Restrictions have been tightened owing to high transmissibility of the variant, Omicron, said the minister.
Files gone missing from the Health department does not pertain to the pandemic period. They are in fact files from long past. Their disappearance dates back to time before KMSCL came into being, the minister said.
Police complaint in the regard was lodged by the Health department itself. Claim of the department not cooperating is false. The Finance Department is presently probing the incident. The government views the occurrence with grave concern, the reason why Finance Dept. was entrusted with the probe. If there are indications of foul play, an in-depth investigation will follow, the minister told reporters.
