THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : While tree seedlings are typical to observing World Earth Day, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan honoured the day planting tapioca and vegetable saplings at Cliff House premises in endorsement that, lockdown is ideal time for people to grow their vegetables by themselves.
In early days into lockdown, CM had suggested that people make time to farm vegetables. Govt agencies are reaching seeds, saplings to places demanded from.
CPI(M) state secretariat had called upon people to put up vegetable garden in their home premises. The party took initiative to form Joint Farming, the Coordination Committees of which, provide technology aid to those who might need it for farming.
Each year, countries around the world observe 22nd April as Earth Day – a day that reminds we must take care of our planet.
