Malappuram : One more person has been nabbed in the murder of Manjeri Municipality Councilor Abdul Jaleel. Arrested in the case on Thursday is Nellikuth native, Shamseer. The prime accused, Abdul Majeed, was taken into custody yesterday. Another suspect, Shuhaib aka Kochu, is on the run. The hartal, following murder, called by Congress within Municipality limits, is currently underway.
League Councilor in Manjeri died last night in the hospital from serious injuries he sustained in attack the previous day. On Tuesday night Abdul Jaleel, also member of 15 Ward, was traveling by car with friends, when a biker gang caught up with them and beat the councilor badly inflicting fatal injuries to his head. There reportedly took place some kind of altercation earlier over vehicle parking at Wayanad.
