Kozhikode : Hostility amongst two Muslim League workers at Thottathilpalam took a violent turn when one of them pulled out a knife and stabbedt he other at party office. The slain youth, 28-year-old Ansar from Edacherkandy, was rushed to hospital but died later.
Followig the incident, the police took a Belmond native , Ahmed Haji, into custody.. The incident took place a few days ago. Deceased Ansar and Ahmed Haji were at loggerheads with each other. Ansar resorted to slandering Ahmed on social media, said League workers. This escalated enmity and eventually led the violent murder..
On the fateful day, League leaders in the region had called both for reconciliatory talks at the party office. However, as soon as they emerged out of the office after talks, Ahmed pulled out a knife concealed in his waist band and stabbed Ansar, wounding him fatally. Other party workers rushed Ansar to Kozhikode Medical College where he died next morning.
