Thiruvananthapuram : Ongoing propaganda on appointments in govt offices is fake, said minister MB Rajesh in the Assembly. Falsified propaganda based on half-truths and hear-says started to be unleashed right from the time of 1st Pinarayi government, the minister said in reply to the adjournment notice submitted by the Opposition.
Propaganda being spread by the Opposition has no factual basis. Their story is that there were recommendations made for 1,99,201 job appointments with PSC rediced tp a mute spectator, the minister said. The minister also presented the Assembly with job recommendations letters from UDF leaders.
The minister informed the House that there were 1.61 lakh job appointments made during the fist Pinarayi government. The Left government made a total of 1.99 lakh recruitments during the term of 1st Pinarayi government, meaning 8,000 more jobs than the preceding UDF government tenure, the minister said. The Left govt also assigned to PSC recruitments the recruitments in 55 more establishments. When all establishments shuttered during Covid days, PSC stayed up open and functioning and those days also witnessed a launch of 181 more IT companies in state, the minister said.
All temporary appointments have meticulous conditions. And government never interferes with those. The controversy now is over a letter made out to be written by the Thiruvananthapuram mayor. Job applications were called thrice at the Corporation. So how does that amount to backdoor appointment?, the minister asked. If there occurred any illegal appointment, the same shall be brought out through probe, said minister, who also said there was nothing warranting urgent debate in this regard. Following this Speaker AN Shameer dismissed the adjournment notice.
The urgent notice was moved by Opposition MLA PC Vishnunath.
