Thiruvananthapuram : In harsh criticism of anti-K-Rail protests, CPI(M) State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said the government will not buckle under these antics.
“Let all those who wish, wriggle into the -K-Rail protests; whoever the wrigglers might be, their goals will not be met. Protesters deposited stones at Collectorate and climbed into Secretariat. However, police observed utmost restrain. The government does not plan to war its people, the reason why there was restrain observed. Let them conduct protests at all places; there are more stones available. By picking on survey stones, they can create shortages in Kerala. If that happens, the project shall be worked by buying stones from neighbouring states. The government is not going to yield to such antics,” said Kodiyeri.
All protests against K-Rail are political. The govt is willing to resolve issues faced by those losing their land. Land shall be acquired only after fully paying of compensations, said Kodiyeri.
The Opposition is triggering people into protests by spreading false propaganda. The study of social impact is currently underway. The proposition that nothing will be allowed to happen under LDF rule is unacceptable.
Only Centre-approved proceedings are being carried out currently. The Central govt has permitted for the govt to carry out survey and prepare Detailed Project Report(DPR). The protests being held down runs against High Court verdict. A liberation movement will not be allowed to happen here. That era is long over, said Kodiyeri.
