Kochi : With regard to sexual abuse relating to the Solar case, Oomen Chandy’s name featured on the very first page of letter the victim released, said TG Nandakumar. It was one of the two letters I received, which the victim herself publicly endorsed as original, Nadakumar told reporters in Kochi.T he letters were of 19 and 25 pages each, he added.
It is not Left leaders who wished to leak the letter that defamed Oomen Chandy, said Nadakumar. Two leaders behind the move have each held post as Home Minister in the then UDF government. They wanted to out the letter and create outrage, said Nandakumar. The two wished to have Chief Minister post for themselves, but never contacted me directly and would instead communicate through middlemen. It was Saranya Manoj who handed me the two explosive letters and I in turn passed them to Asianet correspondent, Nandakumar said.
‘I never paid the victim for the letters. However Benny Behanan and Thampanoor Ravi tricked her promising to pay. She would be paid only at a much later time, when she pleaded for help for her mother’s medical treatment,’ said Nandakumar..
When asked by reporters, Nadakumar admitted Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijiayan never spoke with him, adding that, he never saw Pinarayi after he became Chief Minister. ‘We have met once in the past before but have never spoken, “ Nandakumar clarified to reporters.
When Pinarayi Vijayan took charge as Chief Minster in 2016, the victim had gone to meet with him. There, she submitted a complaint stating she was bodily and financially exploited by Oomen Chandy, Nandakumar told reporters.
