Thiruvananthapuram : The Opposition took to demonstrations in front of Speaker AN Shamseer's office in the Assembly on Wednesday. The unruly members sat down spread around the Speaker’s office stranding him in their midst The Watch and Ward who came for protecting the Speaker was assaulted by the Opposition members . Opposition leader VD Satheesan threatened the staff saying, “You are marked”.
Five Watch and Ward women Wardens sustained serious injuries. They are : Moideen Hussain, Pratish, Akhila SH, Neetu, Megha, Malavika and Sheena. The women wardens have been admitted to the General Hospital.
The Opposition members raced shouting slogans toward the Speaker when they were denied permission for Adjournment Motion. The Opposition members took to sitting around the Speaker’s office alleging that the Watch and Ward had manhandled Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan. MLAs of the ruling party too rushed to chaotic scene. The confrontation escalated into further scuffling. .
