RANCHI : Jharkhand Mukti Morcha(JMM) president Hemant Soren will take oath this afternoon, as 11th Chief Minister of Jharkhand, at a ceremony in Ranchi. The event is expected to be a show of opposition unity where leaders across the political spectrum will attend the function.

Guests include former President Pranab Mukherjee, former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, RJD’s Tejashwi Yadp, Sawmajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and several chief ministers.

Governor Droupadi Murmu will administer the Oath of Office and Secrecy to Soren at 2 pm at Morabadi Ground. This is the second time that Soren will take charge as Chief Minister of the State.

In the State elections held 30 November, the JMM-Congress-RAshtriya Janata Dal(RJD) alliance won 47 constituencies in the 81-seat Assembly, unseating incumbent BJP govt,  whose tally came down to 25 this time.

A team comprising ‘specialists” from Oxford and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) helped with the creative campaign, that saw Soren back into power in the state.
