Mankombu: A pickup auto flips into a paddy field killing two in Kuttanad's Vellanadu. The deceased were identified as Binu(48) son of KG Utup and Maria resideing in Kannanthara Veedu in the panchayat’s 11th ward and Ratheesh(48) son of Ravindran and Maniamma residing in Mattathilparambil in Channassery’s Ithithanam.
The accident took place Monday night close to 8 pm while the men were on way home after selling fish. The fatal flip-over took place close to Velliyanad market while the auto rode through a narrow stretch on way to Binu’s house. Owing to heavy rains in the area, no one learned of the accident until long after.
