Kasaragod : Poet and painter Biju Kanhangad has passed away aged 50. The end came Tuesday morning following a heart surgery.
Biju was admitted to a hospital in Mangalore after complaining of chest pains and underwent angioplasty. However, there occurred another cardiac arrest while being treated, leading to death. Biju is a Malayalam teacher at Periya Govt higher secondary school.
Biju participated in the 2005 national conference of poets conducted by the Sahithya Akadami. His poem include Thottumumbu(തൊട്ടുമുമ്പ്), Manjilayodu( മഞ്ഞയിലയോട്), Azhichakettu(അഴിച്ചുകെട്ട്), June(ജൂണ്), Uchamazhayil( ഉച്ചമഴയില്), Vellimoonga( വെള്ളിമൂങ്ങ), Pulliyude Bhagathu aanu Ipozhullathu(പുലിയുടെ ഭാഗത്താണ് ഞാനിപ്പോഴുള്ളത്), Ullanakkangal* ഉള്ളനക്കങ്ങള്),
The poet’s works have been translated into English, Hindi, Tulu and Kannada.
