Thiruvananthapuram : Subjecting foreign tourists to undue checks while on way with liquor for New Year was rather unfortunate, said Tourism Minister Mohamed Riyas. This is not what government policy is about. This kind of aittude spells setback for state’s tourism. Cops must change on this front, the minister said.
At a time when after Covid phase, efforts are on to draw more tourists to the state, such actions need a closer examination. This kind of standing alongside government and hassling of situations cannot be allowed. It simply cannot be encouraged. The matter will be brought to the notice of the Chief Minister. Let department decide on action in this regard, said Riyas.
