Malappuram : Mangalapuram police arrested youth who assaulted Plus II student in KSRTC bus. Arrested in the incident is : Ananthu alias Indrajith(25) who lives in a rented house in Attingal’s Poovanathummoodu.
The youth harassed the girl inside the bus and spat on her head after which the girl raised an alarm. Ananthu quickly alighted from the bus, scaled a wall and landed in a marshy field of Mundukonam near Tundil temple where he began running. People chased after him and as his legs sunk deeper into the muck, the pace of run grew considerably slow. The chasers warned of hitting him down with stones after which he stopped and gave up.
The group chasing comprised autorickshaw drivers, a few locals and policemen. The incident took place when the victim girl was about to get off at Mangapuram bus stop in Pallipuram close to 8 in the morning Wednesday.
