Polls Across 5 States: Where’s Rahul? Congress Unable To Spot Their Frontline Boss

New Delhi : Despite elections reaching threshold in five states including Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, Congress workers are at loss to spot their frontline steering leader.

While Rhul winged his way for New Year celebrations overseas, there is no sign of his arrival despite a week past now. The boss  is said to have flown to Italy but  nobody can really be  sure. There is trouble brewing at organisational level in Congress-ruled Punjab and Uttarakhand where it is positioned as main Opposition party. It was planned for Congress to take out a rally on 3rd January, with Rahul on prime display in Punjab. However, the event was postponed after  the poster boy failed to surface in time or later.

The headache for Congress is far from minor when   the leader, who claims to be helming  their war  against BJP, is  out  vacationing at poll time.  Incidentally, this is Rahul’s second  foreign vacationing  in a month’s time. He had returned for Winter Session of Parliament the first time before flying out once again end of December.

In 2015, Rahul Gandhi remained abroad for 55 days roaming Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia. In 2019, right before polls in Mahrashtra and Haryana, he left for vacation in Bangkok.  Haryana could have fallen into Congress kitty, had the election campaign not been so flawed.

In 2019,  shortly before the Lok Sabha elections Rahul flew to Britain. In the  Budget Session of 2018 Rahul remained overseas  the whole time. In 2020, after attending the Congress’s foundation day ceremony, Rahul  flew straight  out to Italy.
