Thiruvananthapuram : Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Thiruvananthapuram Tuesday morning for his Kerala visit to inaugurate Vande Bharat Express. Formal reception at airport for PM was accorded by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Governor Arif Muhammed Khan, Minister Antony Raju, Mayor Arya Rajendran, Chief Secretary Dr. VP Joy, State DGP Anil Kant, Southern Air Command Air Marshal SK Indora and others.
Later, PM flagged off Vande Bharat Express train from Thiruvananthapuram Central railway station. At 11:00 am PM reached Central Stadium dedicating Kochi Water Metro to the people of Kerala.
Post the Central stadium ceremony, PM will leave for the airport from where, he takes off to Surat. High security hasd been deployed all around the city in anticipation of PM’s visit.
