Kozhikode : A prime suspect in triple murders committed in West Bengal was tracked to his hideout in Kozhikode. Falling into police net was : 24 Pargana native, Rafikal Sardar Singh.
Ravikal had fled Bengal a day after he and five others killed a Trinamool Congrress(TMC) panchayat member, Swapan Majhi, and two party workers in south 24 Paranga district on Thursday morning. In the incident, Swapan, Jhantu Halder and Bhootnath Pramanik were shot dead and then hacked by four assailants to make sure they were dead. The murders took place in Canning - roughly 50 km southwest of Kolkata - on Thursday morning.
There are a total of 6 accused in the crime.
Cyber cell sleuths located Rafikal’s hideout using mobile tower location from calls he made. Rafikal lived in a locality mostly resided by migrant workers. Those who helped shelter him have also been taken into custody. They are : Rajath Laskar, Badam Shekh, Yunoop Ramal and Taliban Rehman. All, including the fugitive, have been produced before Kozhikode Judicial First Class Magistrate Court 3.
