Thiruvananthapuram : The media orchestrated a carefully planned conspiracy against Priya Varghese and the court verdict is a hit back to both media and the Opposition, said CPI(M) State Secretary MV Govindan. The verdict is a blow to the Governor as well, he added.
What’s the problem with media if one speaks against Sudhakaran, asked MV Govindan, adding that, there’s no any hounding of media in State. The media tongue is strong only when wagging against SFI. Media has nothing to speak on KSU leader’s forged certificate or Sudhakaran. It is SFI that’s incurring blame even for KSU leader’s fake document. This is unacceptable.
There is one-sided media campaign against SFI to mislead the public. It would do good for the media to read passages against it in the Priva Varghese case verdict. Why do they invade privacy of individuals in such undemocratic manner ?, asked MV Govindan.
Nobody gets sued fro reading news. However if there is crime or conspiracy, there will be case filed - be it journalist or otherwise. It is not fascist methods that a journalist should learn. Just what did K Sudhakaran tell about person sentenced to life imprisonment under POCSO? He said the convict has helped a lot and should not be viewed as enemy. And, the media has nothing to ask. If you stand leaning on sandalwood, you smell sandalwood. If you’re leaning elsewhere, then that be it. That’s all I wish to hint, said MV Govindan.
Action will be taken against whoever fabricates fake document. When asking that, the media should also mention KSU leader’s fake certificate. Is media fearful to speak about KSU? The Party will accept only what’s righteous and generally acceptable to the people. The Party will not protect wrong doers by any means., said MV Govindan, adding that, there need be no doubt in this regard.
