Thrissur : Suspicions surrounding suicide of 1st Year Horticulture student at Agriculture University, Mahesh(19), should be investigated, demanded SFI District Committee.
The KSU and Right activists wield substantial sway at Horticulture college and there exists a culture of subjecting students there to incessant ragging. Several complaints from students have been lodged with authorities in this regard. There have been complaints that some youths continue to camp in the college premises and rag students, despite having been long done with their studies. Police should investigate the likelihood of ragging as the motive for suicide in Mahesh’s case, said SFI District President Josir Iqbal and Secretary S S. Sangeeth.
