Thiruvananthapuram : Taking KIIFB funding as State borrowings is biased stand on part of the Centre, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the Assembly Tuesday. The Centre adopts a negative stand in terms of development in Kerala. KIIFB remains founded on solid credibility. However, Centre’s stance affects the overall functioning of the State government, said CM during Question Hour of the House on KIIFB projects.
‘The Centre asks to consider loans from KIIFB as State borrowings even as loan availed by the National Highway Authority are not taken as loan. That is, loans for projects on behalf of the Central government is not considered as loans, while when it comes to State the reverse is made out to be so,” said CM.
“It is fine there. But here the case is different. State govt projects with funding from KIIFB are defined as loans. This is double standards and extreme callousness toward our State,” said CM.
