KOCHI : While receiving gold medal from the President is a moment cherished by all students, Karthika B Kurup, a Malyali student and top ranker from Pondicherry university, said she is proud to have boycotted the varsity’s convocation ceremony with President held on Monday.
She was expressing solidarity with ongoing protests against the recently enacted Citizenship Amendment Act.
Kartika topped the merit list in MSC- Electronics. Two other students too joined her in the boycott.
A native from Kottayam’s Karukachal, Karthika presently works as program producer in a private television channel.
