Thrissur : Track damaged from derailment of goods train in Puthukad has been restored and train services resumed.
A length of 150 meter was damaged from the mishap and took over 20 hours to fix replacement on the rails. Train services were resumed after safety checks around 11 am this morning and fist to pass the reinsated stretch was Malabbar Express.
The derailing took place Friday when the goods train on way to Irumbanam for fuelling, went off tracks close to Ptuthukad(Pudukad) station. Six coaches including the engine compartment slipped the traks. Post the event, trains became stranded at various stations to and fro Ernakulam - Thrissur and subsequently cancelled.
