PV Gangadharan Passes Away

Kozhikode : Renowned film  producer and full-time director of Mathrubhumi daily PV Gangadharan has  passed away aged 80. The end came at a private hospital in Kozhikode around 6:30 this morning while under hospitalisation for a week now.

PV Gangadharan entered film industry with 1977 movie “Sujata”. The last of films under his production banner  ‘Grihalakshmi Productions’  is”Janaki Jaane” which he  produced jointly with his daughter’s  production company S. Cube.

PV Gangadharan has served as Vice President to global association of film producers namely FIAF and also Charman of Kerala Film Development Corporation. Gangadharan was a KSU activist in his student days and is currently member of the AICC. In Assembly elections of 2011, he contested from Kozhikode North constituency.

PV Gangadharan was born in 1943 to PV Sami, the founder of KTC Group of companies and Madhavi Sami. Mathrubhumi managing editor PV Chandran is his older brother. Wife PV Sherin. Children Shengua, Shega and Sherga are associates at film production company S Cube.
