THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : The state govt has launched a quick process for issue of new ration cards within 24 hours of applying. The move follows dilemma faced by numerous households that not have ration card to avail free supplies of foodgrain and provision.
The applicant must approach an Akshaya centre with Aadhaar card. If the documents on hand lack authenticity, a temporary ration card will be issued on submitting affidavit thereof.
Over 33,000 people have so far taken free ration deliveries based on this new process.
