Thiruvananthapuram : The Indian Meteorological Dept(IMD) has forewarned of heavy rains for Kerala, showers that will likely continue owing to the buildup of low pressure over sourthwest Jharkhand. Rains are expected to last for next five days. Isolated severe rains accompanied by thunder are lightning are predicted for today. Heavy rains refer to shower in the range of 64.5 mm to 115.55 mm in 24 hours.
4 districts have been issued Yellow Alert - the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha.
The residents in hilly and coastal areas have been advised special caution with likelihood of intense rainfall forecast in these regions.
