Rains Likely In State For Next 5 Days; Orange Alert In 2 Districts

Thiruvananthapuram : The IMD has warned likelihood of rains in State for the next five days. The IMD forecast cites cyclonic circulation over northeast Bay of Bengal that will, in the next 24 hours, transform into depression to the northwest Bay of Bengal that will result in downpours for Kerala over 5 days from tomorrow.

Isolated rains could expected from 4th to 8th and heavy showers at isolated stretches tomorrow. Orange Alert has been declared for Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts today. Districts of Alappuzha, Kottayam and Ernakulam are put on Yellow Alert today and the districts of Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Thrissur tomorrow.

It is Yellow Alert for Ernakulam and Idukki on Wednesday and  for Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod on Thursday.
