Rains To Become Heavier : Winds Likely of 50 km per hour

Thiruvananthapuram :  Heavy rains continue to lash most regions across the state. Following incessant rains starting Friday night several places in the capital has became waterlogged. Severe rains continue to pour along the coasts and hilly regions of the state.

The IMD forecasts heavy rains with thunder and lightning for the next three days, accompanied by winds gusting up to 40 km per hour in districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Ernakulam. Seas are  turbulent and fisher folks have been warned against sailing into the waters.

The current onslaught of rains  is  result of depression formed in the Arabian sea. Rains will get particularly strong in central and northern districts,, against which, orange alerts have been announced for Malappuram and Kozhikode.
