Red Flag Unfurls : CPI(M) State Sammelanam Day One

Kochi : Amid political fervor and high sprits, thousands in Kochi stood witness as the Red Flag unfurled  high, marking CPI(M) State Sammelanam in prelude to the 23rd Party Congress.

Following this, the event  began with floral offerings at the martyrs’ column after which the delegates entered the Sammelanam venue. The welcome song marked beginning of the meeting. EP Jayarajan presented he Martyrs Resolution and AK Balan the Condolence Resolution. CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury inaugurated the Delegates’ Conclave(Sammelanam).

P. Rajeev delivered the welcome note. EP Jayarajan  is the event convener. The presidium comprises Susan Kody, AA Rahim, Sachindev and OR Kelu.

There are in all 400 delegates and 23 observer participants at the Sammelanam. Distinguished attendees also include Polit Bureau members Prakash karat, S Ramachandran Pillai, MA baby, Brinda Karat and G Ramakrihnan. State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan will present activity report at 12.15. Group debate will commence 5.30 evening.

The conclave will assess Activity Report covering four years and will also discuss policy paper toward creating a Navakeralam (new Kerala).  The policy paper comprising new perspectives  for Navakerala developmental activities will be presented by Chief Minster and Polit Bureau member Pinarayi Vijayan Thursday evening.
