Red Flag Unfurls; :Party Congress Begins

Polit Bureau member S Ramachandran Pillai unfurls the 23rd Party Congress Flag


Kannur (EK Nayanar Nagar) : The 23rd Party Congress Flag unfurled high in the land reddened by  historic struggles, Kannur. CPI(M) Politburo member S Ramachandran Pillai hoisted the flag. The aim is to isolate BJP that’s ruining the country’s secularism, said SRP. CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury inaugurated Party Congress. Political resolutions shall become presented at 4 pm this evening. Delegates discussions shall commence from 9 am Thursday.

812 Delegates
A total of 812 delegates including representatives from various states and  Central Committee members will partake in Party Congress. In their meeting held Tuesday, the Polit Bureau members approved proceedings for Party Congress.

Delegates arriving from various states carry with them  brunts borne from profound struggles in their respective  lands. Delegates across 25 states reached Kannur on Tuesday evening. 17 Polit Bureau members, 78 Central Committee members, 640 delegates and 77 observers. A total of 812 individuals are participating in Party Congress, with majority members belonging to Kerala.  178 delegates from West Bengal, 163 from Tripura, and one each from Goa and Andaman Nicobar.
