Thiruvananthapuram : While the Governor’s rant on irregularities goes unabated, the skeletons tumbling from his closet tell a different story. The letter that’s now out for all to see, shows Governor Arif Mohammad Khan asked the Chief Minister to regularise jobs of 20 contractual workers at Raj Bhavan.
The letter recommends that P Dileep Kumar, working as photographer at Raj Bhavan for years on contract basis should be made a regular employee. The letter further asks to regularise employment of 20 others- all of who have worked for less than five years and were recruited through Kudumbasree.
To regularise Dileep Kumar into employment, the Governor, in his letter, asked that post of “Cypher Assistant” be rechristened to that of “Photographer”. Subsequently, the Dileep was made a permanent staff and the Order that regularised clearly mentioned that such appointment was being done at the orders of the Governor(See pic below).
Dileep was inducted on a salary scale of Rs 27,800 - Rs 59400 - again on recommendation that the Governor made..
Thus, while the Governor pitches high on backdoor appointments, the 20 temporary staff regularised on his recommendation is conveniently kept out of public eye.
