Thiruvananthapuram : Sleazy response to a woman reporter lands N Prashant Nair in soup. Police on Tuesday registered FIR against the IAS officer on charges of outraging modesty of woman for allegedly sending vulgar stickers on mobile to Mathrubhumi reporter Pravitha. The case was registered after journalists’ union submitted a complaint to the Chief Minister.
Pravitha had shot questions regarding deep sea-fishing, to which, Prashant at first responded with a picture of actor Sunil Sukhede. The reporter then said all she wanted to know was his viewpoint on the topic. To this, Prashanth allegedly responded with picture of an actress’s face with suggestive gesture.
Taken aback, the reporter asked what kind of a response that was. He then send another picture of an actress’s face in reply. The reporter ended her side of the conversations saying, a government employee of his stature was not expected to act in such low standards and, that he should first and foremost learn how to behave appropriately with women.
Prashant then came up with a text reply saying, the tactic to extract information was good, but it was being applied to the wrong person. He followed-up on that with another message saying journalists were akin to scavengers.
Following the incident, a senior editor with the newspaper tried to contact Prashant, but he did not respond and instead deleted all the sticker messages he had sent.
