Thiruvananthapuram : A special relief based on revolving fund scheme shall be implemented for tourism workers plunged into distress from Covid impact on the industry, said Minister PA Muhammad Riyas on Monday.
The scheme will provide interest-free loans to those working in the sector. Tourist taxi drivers, tourist bus drivers, shikari/house boat staff, hotel/restaurant worker, restaurants, Ayurveda centres, tent tourism, farm stay, home stay, service villas, amusement park, green park, adventure tourism, responsible tourism other related staff, artists, craftsmen, martial artistes etc will benefit from the scheme.
It has been decided to unconditionally renew licenses up to December 31st for Ayurveda centres, restaurants, farm stays, service villas, tent tourism, amusement park, adventure tourism, green farm tourism, tour operators recognized/accredited with the tourism department, said Muhammad Riyas. The minister was responding to a query in the Assembly from E Chandrashekaran, VR Sunil Kumar, P Balachandran and CC Mukandan
