Thiruvananthapuram : Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced immediate financial assistance of Rs 10,000 for each family affected by the devastating landslides that struck Mundakkai and Chooramala.
The relief will be paid to each family lodged in the camp and those displaced and housed in their relatives’ homes. Rs 300 will be paid in daily allowance to two adults in each affected family that might have lost their means of livelihood, The allowance will be extended to three for families that have bedridden kin or ones undergoing long term medical treatment. The allowance will be paid for a period of one month.
The government has inquired with the Collector if it is possible to arrange accommodation in government or public-owned properties for families currently staying in camps and wishing to shift out to a different place. The rent for such accommodation will be fixed on receiving Collector’s report in this regard.
