Edakochi : The State government policy and activities thereof lay emphasis on protecting the public schools, said Education Minister V Sivankutty, speaking at the inaugural of new building of govt high school in EdaKochi.
The government has sanctionrf Rs. 3000 crore for construction of new buildings as part of strengthening the public education system. 76 school buildings are being inaugurated commemorating with the second anniversary of this government.
47 lakh students study in government and aided schools in the state. Ongoing activities aim to improve infrastructure at schools and the academic field as a whole. Elaborate arrangements are being made before schools reopen after mid-summer vacation. At schools where construction works are in progress, measures with regard to student safety have been put in place, the minister told media.
