Pathanamthitta : Police in Pathanamthitta arrest Akhil Sajeev, in connection with the fake bribe-for-job case mounted falsely on Health Minister’s personal staff. Akhil Sajeev’s current arrest comes over embezzlement of funds at CITU office in Pathanamthitta 2 years ago.
Questioning led by DySP Nandkumar is currently underway.
The Case: Malappuram natives Haridas and Basid lodged complaint claiming the former paid Rs 1 lakh in bribe to personal staff of Health Minister Veena George, Akhil Mathew on 10 April around 3:00 pm. The money, Haridas said, was on promise of a temporary job for his daughter-i-law as Medical Officer with Ayush Mission.
The claim crumbled after visual evidences showed Ahil Mathew was two districts away at the tme. With investigations pointing to another direction, Haridasan blamed his poor vision and said he was unsure who he paid the money to. Police are currently working to unravel the conning or likely conspiracy that took place.
