Sabarimala : Reports on party stand being wholly verdict-based is media imagination : CPI(M)

Thiruvananthapuram : Reports claiming that, party decision on Sabarimala is wholly based on  court order, is rather media presumption, said CPI(M). The party endorses  gender equality in all spheres and just that, it added.

Governments at all times have toed in line with rules, law and court rulings. The Left govt abided by  the Kerala High Court 1991 judgment until the 2018 Supreme Court verdict overturned it.

Govt  then became constitutionally compelled to implement the reversal, pronounced by the court.

However in the latest development, there is general consensus that the  present SC ruling lacks clarity on important aspects.

Hence the govt shall be obliged to carry out the court’s directive,  after the top court sheds greater light on  key aspects in the pending case.

The Chief Minister in his response to the issue,  has indicated this before. It however transpires that, the govt  stance has disappointed those trying to eke out  political gains, CPI(M) said in its press release.
