Thiruvananthapuram : Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran, today urged people’s support for smooth conduct of Sabarimala’s annual pilgrimage season, the  Mandala-Makaravilaku, which begins today.

There is ambiguity in the latest verdict, said the minister adding that, even legal experts endorse the lack of clarity.

The chief minister will seek legal advice for greater clarity on the legal intent, said Kadakampally.

The govt on its part,  never attempted to fetch women uphill to the shrine, last year.  At that time, the govt had a sole court directive before it. That’s not the situation now, Kadakampally said at the press conference.

Sabarimala is not a venue to flaunt one’s activism, said the minister. I have said this before, Kadakampally added.

Some people intend publicity via their activity. That’s not fair. It is not government’s job to support such goals, the minister said.  Those adamant in that vein, may come with a court order, he added.
