Thiruvananthapuram : “Santhwana Sparsham” - the programme where ministers will directly hear out problems faced by people and resolve them - takes-off today. Under the scheme, ministers may, for disbursal purposes, draw funds up to Rs 25,000 from the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund after applying for cases of distressed persons. Should there occur situations exceeding that amount, the Principal Secretaries to Finance and Revenue Departments have been authorised, to submit concerned applications to the government and credit the needful amount into the beneficiary’s bank account.
Adalats will be held on Mondays in districts of Kollam, Alappuzha, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Kannur. The series will continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays too and cover all districts.
Applications for “Santhwana Sparsham” relief will be accepted free-of-cost at Akshay centres. New applications too may be submitted. Those unable to apply online, may submit their grievances directly to Chief Minister’s Office(CMO) where the document will be registered online and resolved in a 7-day time period. These adalats being held at block level across districts are over and above redressals offered at CMO.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan issued added instructions for setting of special facilities at Akshays in the Adivasi settlements. Members of the adivasi community should be met with personally and their grievances collected, CM instructed. Also, for complaints whose redressal might call for amendment to an existing law, rule or policy, Collectors have been instructed to take up the matter and present it to the govt. . BDOs have been entrusted with setting up of adalats. It must be ensured that all aggrieved persons attain solution to their problems, said CM’s directive to officials.
