Thiruvananthapuram : Former KPCC President and MLA Ramesh Chennithala rejected Opposition Leader VD Satheesan’s claim that groupism had ended in Congress’s Kerala unit. Groupism is a 45-year-old tradition, said Chennithala, lashing that. VD Satheesan, KPCC president K Sudhakaran and AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal played role as sub-commanders in his group.
Chennithala said both he and Oomen Chandy were successors of groupism. It is those that stated lack of enthusiasm for group politics who now claim groupism has ended. In the days when I worked tirelessly for the front, these persons had accused I was working for the group, said Chennithala. After gaining positions on grounds being part of a group, what use is it saying groupism has ended, asked Chennithala.
Chennithala's comments came during course of an interview with a Engiish daily.
