Thiruvananthapuram : If poor student turnout cause attendance in schools and colleges to fall below 40 percent for three days consistently, the institutions shall be closed, decided a meeting held Monday, chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan Monday.
Classification of districts into into A, B an C categories, based on Covid spread status, will come into force from Thursday. Case numbers and hospital admissions in state are on the rise. The worst-hit district of Thiruvananthapuram has been categorised as 'C'. CM instructed closer integration of local self establishments to rein in the ongoing Covid spread. Officials must speak with private hospital that reject Covid patients, said CM.
Work from home for parent of special children
One parent of children affected with cerebral plasy and autism shall be allowed to work from home. Scanty attendance at Secretariat owing to Covid spread shall be looked into.
Campaign in districts with low vaccination
Vaccination rate for second dose is below average in districts of Kasaragod , Malappuram, Palakkad and Idukki. Child vaccinations figure below average in districts of Ernakulam, Idukki, Malappuram and Thiruvananthapuram. Special vaccine campaigns shall be held in these regions. The meeting also instructed setting up arrangements in all districts for Covid patients who need dialysis.
Online training Wednesday
The Health Department will launch special campaign to step up Covid mitigation measures. Residents, associations and local bodies shall become participants in the online training program to commence Wednesday. Vaccine stocks and bed availability shall be ensured in timely manner, said CM at the meeting. The Disaster Management Department issued order for further restrictions.
